The Bears Softball Program Celebrates Senior Day Before Taking On Jefferson In CACC Action

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College softball program celebrated Senior Day Monday afternoon and honored four players before their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader against Jefferson University. Audrianna Ortiz, Alana Roberts, Jillian Homes and Daniela Vidal were recognized in a heartfelt pre-game ceremony. 
 
Ortiz was unable to suit up for the 2025 season due to an injury however across her career at Bloomfield she played in 103 games and started in 100 of them. She recorded 61 hits which included 4 doubles in her Bears uniform and drove in 28 runs. She had a career batting average of .237 with 6 stolen bases on her resume.
 
Roberts played 2 seasons with the Bears. She started in 30 games across those two years and played in 47 games total. In the 2022 season she batted .267 with a .311 slugging percentage. She had 19 career hits with two doubles and scored 17 runs. In the field she recorded 74 career putouts.
 
Holmes was a two-way player for the Bears across her four-year career. On the batting side, she had 77 career starts for Bloomfield and appeared in 117 total games. She boasted a .289 batting average with 45 career hits, 20 RBI and 1 home run. In the circle, she made 74 appearances with 16 starts and pitched over 160 innings in her career.
 
Vidal had been with the program all four years and played in 165 games and started in 164 of them. This season she boasted a team-leading, .310 batting average with 26 hits, 3 doubles and 2 stolen bases. On April 20, 2024 she joined the prestigious 100 Hit club and currently sits 14th on the Bears career-hit leaders during the NCAA D2 era. Solid in the field, she boasted 315 career assists and 215 career put-outs. Her career fielding percentage sits at .925.

After the games the Rams improved to 13-23 overall and 12-8 in CACC match ups while Bloomfield fell to 0-35 for the season and 0-20 in league play.
 
NEXT UP
The Bears closeout their 2025 campaign on the road with another CACC doubleheader tomorrow against Georgian Court University. The Tuesday, April 22nd conference action is set for a 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm first pitch respectively.
