BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The #1 ranked women's basketball team in the USCAA closed out their regular season Friday with a hard-fought, 78-72 win over Cheyney University. The Senior Day victory in The Den capped off a perfect 9-0 record at home this season and pushed the Bears win-streak to seven games as they get set to enter post-season play.
Just before the start of the game the Athletic Department honored the program's four seniors.

Ania Martinez,
Mia Martinez and
Anisha Able were all recognized prior to tip-off for their contributions as student-athletes for Bloomfield College of Montclair State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bears began the evening with an 8-1 run and led by as many as nine (19-10) before Cheyney ripped off six-straight points to close out the first period down 19-16.
- Midway through the 2nd quarter the visitors drew even at 28-28 but Bloomfield pulled ahead by six (39-33) to end the frame on the strength of a three-point play from Able.
- Nia Mallette led the home team with 13 points at the intermission and added 7 boards and 4 for steals.
- In the third quarter, the Bears went up, 50-40 before Cheyney sliced their deficit down to 58-53 heading into the final period.
- Despite the visitors getting as close as, 60-56, Bloomfield prevailed down the stretch and preserved the Senior Day victory.
- Mallette finished the game with a double-double, snagging a game-high 16 rebounds to go along with a team-high 23 points.
- Able thrilled the crowd with her eighth 20 plus-point performance of the year, going for 22 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field. The senior also notched 17-straight double-double of this season as she grabbed 14 rebounds.
- Mia Martinez flirted with a triple-double as she played her last game in The Den and recorded 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 points.
- Kaleigh Valle came off the bench to add 11 points in 23 minutes of play.
