DIX HILLS, NY – Bloomfield College men's basketball team entered the North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics (NACIA) Tournament Saturday ranked #1 in the league and took down the # 4 ranked Bobcats from Bryant & Stratton College of Albany, 108-91. The victory in the semifinal round, played on the campus of Five Towns College, marked the first men's basketball postseason game in the newly formed Division I conference of the USCAA.  
 
The Bears moved to 19-6 overall and advanced to the NACIA Championship final scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30 am with the impending weather forcing an adjusted tip-off from 1:00 pm.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Bloomfield enjoyed 7 players scoring in double-digit scoring led by senior, Zamorian Singleton with 21 points. Singleton went 7-for-13 from the field and added 11 rebounds for his 10^th double-double of the year. 
• The Bears controlled the pace from the onset, clawing out a, 61-45 halftime advantage. Freshman, guard Jahi Whitney led the offensive attack at the break with 11 points. 
• Whitney finished up the game with 18 points followed by classmate Cameron McRae who netted 16 points. 
• The Bobcats made a surge in the second half and cut their deficit down under ten (94-85) with 5:18 remaining but Bloomfield was up to the task and closed out the semifinal with a 14-6 spurt.
• The return of senior, Marcus Bucknall yielded a strong double-double with 15 points and 11 boards as the forward went 9-for-11 from the freethrow line.
• Devin Artis chipped in 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and Brandon Hendyx alongside Na'Shawn Jones each finished the game in double-figures with 12 and 10 points respectively. 

UP NEXT:
 
Bloomfield will now take on the #2 Bryant & Stratton College of Syracuse who defeated #3 Berkeley in the 2^nd NACIA semifinal, 87-77. The two teams that split their regular season series are now set to face off for the Tournament Championship at 11:30 am on Sunday.
 
On 'Bid Day' February 24^th the Bears will learn who they face in the USCAA National Championship Tournament to be played in Buffalo, NY in March.
