MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Bears softball team lost a pair of non-conference contests on Tuesday at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, Fla. After being shutout, 8-0 in 6 innings against the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils, Bloomfield then fell by an 8-4 scoreline to the Defiance College Yellow Jackets. With the defeats, the Bears moved to 1-3 on the campaign, while the Blue Devils and Yellow Jackets climbed to 6-3 and 4-5, respectively.
GAME 1 STANDOUT PERFORMERS:
GAME 1 vs Lawrence Tech Bears Pitching:
- Kate Juskiewicz only went a third of an inning, giving up three walks before giving way to Hastings who came on in relief to get out of the 1st inning without allowing a run.
- Hastings pitched 5 and two-thirds innings giving up eight runs on 13 hits while striking out one batter. Her overall record moved to 0-2.
GAME 2 STANDOUT PERFORMERS:
- Edith Luciano went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. in the game
- Hailey Conner went 2-for-4 with a double.
- Isabella Franco went 2-for-2 with a RBI.

- Kate Juskeiwicz gave it a go again to start against the Yellow Jackets and gave up five runs on four hits with only four runs earned. She struck out one batter and walked two. Hastings came on in relief and surrendered three runs (all earned) on six hits while striking out two and walked three in four and two-thirds innings of work.
