Bears Softball Walk-Off With Home Opener Sweep Over Penn State Scranton

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Bloomfield Bears softball team put on a strong performance in their Home Opener, sweeping a doubleheader against Penn State Scranton at Carla D. Ward Field. Behind dominant pitching and a relentless offensive attack in Game 2, the Bears improved their overall standing to 3-7 with a 7-1 victory in the opener and a 10-2 walk-off five inning finish in game two.

In the first contest, Kate Juskiewicz was the story in the circle, tossing a complete game and allowing only one run on four hits while striking out seven. The Bears' offense provided steady support, highlighted by a balanced attack that saw every starter reach base.

The momentum carried directly into the second game, where Bloomfield exploded for six runs in the first. Jaida Hastings earned the win, while the bats pounded out 13 hits, including the walk-off home run from Edith Luciano, to shorten the contest to five innings via the run rule.

The sweep marks a significant high point for the Bears as they continue growing in confidence on both sides of the ball.
