BUFFALO, NY – The #1 seed in the USCAA National Tournament took care of business in the opening round of play, eliminating Berkeley College from championship contention, 92-40 on Tuesday afternoon. Bloomfield College was led by the National Player of the Year,
Nia Mallette who poured in 29 points in 32 minutes of postseason work.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bloomfield's offense flourished in the opening quarter, running off the game's first 16 points highlighted by 3 three-pointers from Kaleigh Valle.
- The Knights were powerless as the nation's top seed followed up with a 15-4 run to close out the first up, 31-4.
- By intermission, Valle led all scorers with 14 points and the Bears took a, 47-16 lead into the locker room.
- Mallette posted a perfect third quarter, going 6-for-6 from the field which included 2 three-pointers and outscored the Knights offense herself, 14-11 in the frame.
- As a team, Bloomfield shot 55.6 percent from the field in the third quarter and pushed their advantage to, 71-27.
- The USCAA First Team All-American, Anisha Able set the tone in the fourth quarter as she shot 50.0 percent from the field (3-of-6) for 9 nine points and finished the afternoon with 24 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
- Able's double-double became her 19th straight, dating all the way back to November 16, 2025.
- Mallette also finished the game with a double-double, snagging 13 rebounds to go along with her postseason best, 29 points.
- Valle led the #1 seed with four made three-pointers in the game as she finished with 14 points and Ania Martinez rounded out the top-scorers with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the floor.
- Aliyah Carroll led Berkeley with 11 points off the bench while starter, Aniyah Robinson grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
- The Knights fell to 16-14 on the season while Bloomfield improved to 17-6 as they advance in the Championship Tournament.

The Bears will take on the 4
th seeded, Bryant & Stratton College of Buffalo on Thursday, March 5
th. The Bobcats advanced after a, 79-71 victory over Denmark Technical College on Tuesday. Bloomfield has the top offense in the tournament with their 92-point performance and Mallete along with Able are the top-scorers as well. The National Championship Semifinal match is set to tip at 7:45 pm at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center.
