Biography

About Castro:  A heady point guard who tallied over 1,900 points during her high school career, Ivettlis rejoins the Lady Deacons for her senior campaign in 2013-2014.  A talented scorer, Castro will be one of the primary guards in the Bloomfield attack this season.

As a sophomore:  Played in 27 games with 14 starts, averaging 20.4 minutes per contest...Finished third on the Lady Deacons in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game...Led Bloomfield and finished fourth in the CACC in free-throw percentage as a sophomore in 2011-2012, connecting on over 83% of her attempts from the charity stripe...Finished in a tie for second on the club in three-point percentage on the season, connecting on just over 34% of her long-range attempts...Castro's 46 total three-pointers placed her eighth in the CACC in 2011-2012...Reached double-figures in scoring in 14 of Bloomfield's contests during her sophomore campaign, topping 20 points on two occasions...Tallied a season-high 22 points in a loss to North Division rival Caldwell College December 3, 2012...Notched a season-high six assists in a loss to CACC South Division rival Goldey Beacom College February 4, 2012.

As a freshman:  Played in 27 games with eight starts during her rookie campaign...Averaged 6.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in just over 15 minutes per contest...Shot 31% from the field during her freshman season, while finishing second on the Lady Deacons by connecting on 29% of her three-point attempts...Also finished second on the team in free-throw percentage, converting 68% of her tries from the charity stripe...Totaled 16 steals and three blocks...Was named CACC Rookie of the Week for the week of February 7, 2011, the first conference award of her Bloomfield College career.

Before Bloomfield:  A three-time All-County selection during her standout high school career, Castro was also voted a first team All-Conference selection, and was also named Team Most Valuable Player during her tenure at Carteret High School.

Why Ivettlis chose Division II:  "I chose to come to Bloomfield because I felt it was the best fit for me."
