Biography

About Meola:  Joe returns to the Deacons for his junior season in 2013, firmly entrenched as the club's starting center fielder.  A smart player who brings an old-school intensity to the game, Bloomfield expects Joe to continue his ascent to being named among the top outfielders in the CACC in his third season with the program.

As a sophomore:  Played in 39 games in 2012, totaling 133 at-bats...Notched 32 hits on the year, including five doubles and one triple...Drove in ten runs as a sophomore, while swiping eight bases in 13 attempts...Made just two errors in center field, posting a .979 fielding percentage on the season...Earned an All-CACC Tournament Team selection following the Deacons' two-game stint in posteason play.

As a freshman:  Played in 28 games with 26 starts...Finished with a .250 batting average in 96 at-bats, totaling 26 hits and three doubles...FInished fifth on the 2011 squad with a .345 on-base percentage, and swiped six bases in nine attempts.

Before Bloomfield:  Joe starred for four years at Columbia High School before joining the Bloomfield College baseball program in 2010.

Why Joe chose Division II:  “I chose Division II because I knew I’d have the opportunity to become the best baseball player I could possibly be.”
