Biography

After a stellar first season at BC, Kira Wagar is on track to once again lead BC's attack on offense and defense in 2010.  A tremendous athlete with a great presence on the field, Wagar should move up to the leadoff spot in BC's lineup for 2010.  A true 5 tool player, Wagar also possess the best game instincts on the team.  Wagar figures to move over from 3rd base to shortstop this year, but can also spend time at 3rd, catcher and in the outfield.  One of the toughest players to strike out in the conference, Wagar should be one of the most reliable players in the CACC once again this year.

2009:
Kira Wagar may have been one of the most underrated players in the entire CACC last season.  After winning the National Tournament MVP as a sophomore at Monroe Community College, Wagar followed that up with an outstanding season for Bloomfield.  Wagar led the Deacons with a .370 average and 14 stolen bases.  Wagar was named to the CACC All-Tournament team after leading BC to a 3rd place finish in the 8 team, double elimination tournament.  In the Deacons opening game, Wagar belted a 2 out, 2 run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning against All-CACC pitcher Ali Schmidt to give BC a 2-1 win.  Wagar was just the 6th player to hit 2 home runs in one CACC tournament and also tied the CACC tournament records with 3 stolen bases and 6 RBIs in one tournament.  Her 4 RBI game against Post was the second highest total in a CACC tournament game.

BEFORE BLOOMFIELC COLLEGE: After leading Monroe Community College to it's third straight National Championship, Kira Wagar arrives with teammate Jackie Dean as a transfer student in hopes to solidify BC's infield and the top of their batting order.  Wagar was named the MVP of the National Tournament in 2008 after hitting .571 over the 7 game-tourney with a home run and 17 RBI.  Wagar's performance in the two-game championship against Brookdale Community College was nearly flawless as she went 7-8 with 11 RBI.  Wagar's offensive career for the Tribunes was equally as impressive as she finished her career with a .480 batting average (160-333) and 96 RBI.  This year, as MCC's cleanup hitter, she drove in 57 runs in 53 games.  Wagar is a consistent hitter who enjoyed a 29 game hitting streak in 2008 and hit safely in 47 of the Tribunes 53 games.  She also registered 24 multi-hit games last year.  A second basemen for MCC, Wagar could see time at shortstop, third base, outfield or catcher for the Deacons and figures to find a home in the top of the Deacons' lineup.
