Biography

Amanda Bartels has developed into one of the top power threats in the CACC and has become a consistent and clutch hitter for Bloomfield College.  Despite playing her first two seasons through a shoulder injury, Bartels has logged over 150 at bats and holds a career average over .350.  One of the most knowledgable players on the team, Bartels contributes to BC well beyond her performance on the field.  She has established herself as the Deacons' clean up hitter and should continue to be a leader on and off the field for Bloomfield College.

2008:
Bartels comes off of a season in which she was one of the top offensive threats for Bloomfield College.  Bartels hit .338 on the year and was second on the team with 5 home runs and a .708 slugging percentage.  Bartels also was third on the Deacons with 18 RBI and 14 extra base hits.  What makes these accomplishments even greater was that Bartels started only 22 games (and had less than half of the at bats of most starters) for the Deacons while battling through an injury.  Bartels provided the Deacons with some of their most clutch hits of the year.  In a game against St. Thomas Aquinas, Bartels delivered a pinch hit double to give the Deacons a 4-3 win.  Bartels also delivered a two-run pinch hit double in the bottom of the 7th against Felician with the Deacons down 4-1 entering the frame.  She later scored the tying run that inning in a game the Deacons went on to win 5-4.  Bartels also had a multi-homer game against Nyack on April 15th.

2009: Bartels improved off of a solid freshman campaign and became a leader for BC as a sophomore.  Coming off of shoulder surgery, Bartels was second on the team with a .368 average and drove in 22 runs on the year.  Her 3-run homer against Caldwell College provided BC with their offense in a 3-1 win over the Cougars. After her outstanding season, Bartels was named Honorable Mention All-CACC.  Bartels hit .430 in post season play for BC.
