About Sepulveda: A four-year starter behind the plate for the Deacons, Alex turned himself into one of the best backstops in the CACC over his four years at Bloomfield. His ability to handle a pitching staff and save runs with his defense made him an indispensable member of the Deacons throughout his college career.
As a senior: Played in 25 games behind the plate with 24 starts...Totaled 16 hits with a double while scoring 11 runs and posting a .302 on-base percentage...Finished in a tie for fifth in walks with eight.
As a junior: Played in 28 games behind the plate with 23 starts...Totaled 23 hits in 89 at-bats, including a double...Swiped a pair of bases in three attempts, and scored seven runs while driving in seven.
As a sophomore: Played in 28 games for the Deacons, making 26 starts behind the plate...Threw out eight runners on the season, while hitting .302 at the plate, a career high...Compiled 26 hits including four doubles and a home run, while posting a .354 on-base percentage.
As a freshman: Started 27 games for the Deacons at catcher in his freshman campaign, belting a home run and driving in 10 runs...Tallied 16 hits, including a pair of doubles.
Why Alex chose Division II: “I chose to attend Bloomfield College because of its small campus and the opportunity to further my abilities as a college baseball player.”
