Bloomfield College

About Bacote:  An athletic forward and an outstanding defender, Bacote returns to the Lady Deacons for her senior season in 2012-2013.  With the ability to be a stopper on the defensive end of the floor, Shaniqua will again be one of the primary frontcourt options for Bloomfield in the upcoming season.

As a junior:  Played in 27 games with 17 starts, averaging 30.9 minutes per contest...Averaged 5.4 points, and finished second on the Lady Deacons with an average of 6.3 rebounds per game...Finished second on the club and 13th in the CACC in offensive rebounds with 2.3 offensive boards per contest...Averaged 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and .9 blocks per game, placing her third on the Lady Deacons in the statistic...Bacote's 29 total blocks placed the junior 15th in the CACC...Totaled a season-high 11 points in a loss at Caldwell December 3, 2011...Totaled a season-high 12 rebounds in an 81-51 victory over CACC North Division rival Nyack College January 3, 2012.

As a sophomore:  Played in all 28 games with 28 starts as a sophomore in 2010-2011...Averaged 6.8 points per game to finish fifth on the Lady Deacons...Averaged 6.8 rebounds per game to place her second on the team and 18^th in the CACC...Totaled 96 offensive rebounds, the eighth-highest total in the CACC...Shot 39% from the field and totaled 40 steals and 14 blocks (second on the team)  in just over 30 minutes per contest...Averaged 1.2 assists a game. 

Before Bloomfield:  During her high school career, Shaniqua was a third team All-State selection in basketball, and an All-County selection in both basketball and volleyball...Played at Georgian Court University for one season before transferring to Bloomfield College.

Why Shaniqua chose Division II:  "I chose to come to Bloomfield because it's a small environment and it's close to my home."
