Bloomfield College

About Wafula:  After a breakout junior season, Matt will assume one of the starting forward positions for the second consecutive season.  An athletic big man, the Deacons will rely on Matt to provide quality play on both sides of the ball in his final year at Bloomfield.

As a junior:  Played in all 32 games with 32 starts in 2010-2011...Averaged 12.0 points to finish third on the team...Averaged 5.1 rebounds per contest, good for fourth on the Deacons during his junior campaign...Totaled three double-doubles on the season...Finished 60^th in the nation and fifth in the CACC in blocked shots, averaging 1.5 per contest and totaling 50 blocks on the season...Reached double-figures in scoring in 18 of the team's 32 games...Matt's signature performance on the Deacons' run to the Elite Eight came in the CACC Tournament Final against Goldey Beacom College, the forward dropping 21 points, 12 rebounds, an assist and a steal in the team's 94-81 victory.

As a sophomore:  Played in all 29 games for the Deacons with eight starts...Averaged 6.0 points, and 3.9 rebounds in 15.2 minutes a game...Pulled down 114 total rebounds, good for fifth on the team.

Before Bloomfield:  Matt played a season at Molloy College and starred at St. Agnes High School before joining the men's basketball program at Bloomfield College.
