Biography

About Vilichka:  A solid left-handed pitcher, John enjoyed a stellar four-year career as a member of the Deacons pitching staff, concluding his tenure in the program after his senior year in 2012. 

As a senior:  Appeared in 16 games for the Deacons during the 2012 season, making three starts on the mound...Finished fifth on the club in innings pitched, totaling a career-high 41.2 innings...Placed second on the club with three saves on the year...Pitched to a 4.10 ERA.

As a junior:  Appeared in six games, totaling seven innings pitched...Struck out three hitters while surrendering nine hits, posting a 7.71 ERA.

As a sophomore:  Appeared in nine games, totaling 9.2 innings pitched...Held opponents to a .256 batting average, while striking out three hitters.

As a freshman:  Tossed 1.2 innings in two appearances in 2009.

Why John chose Division II:  “When I first started applying to colleges, Bloomfield caught my eye immediately.  I liked the fact it was a small college that offered my major and would allow me to compete in baseball at a high level.”
