About Fernandez:  A talented all-around player with tremendous instincts for the game, Jonattan rejoins the Deacons for his final campaign with the club as one of the top shortstops in the CACC.

As a junior:  Played in 41 games during the 2012 season...Batted .294 with 48 hits...Posted a .388 on-base percentage with 19 walks...Finished second on the club with 36 runs along with 25 stolen bases in 30 attempts...Finished second in double plays (25) and seventh in infield assists (113)...Earned second team All-CACC honors following his banner junior campaign, in which he finished sixth in the league in stolen bases and eighth in runs scored.

As a freshman (Bloomfield):  Played in 42 games with 39 starts...Batted .250 with 31 hits, including four doubles, one triple, two home runs and 18 RBIs...Posted a .347 slugging percentage, drawing 11 walks and notching a .340 on-base percentage...Finished third on the club with nine stolen bases in 12 attempts.

Before Bloomfield:  Jonattan starred at Paterson East Side High School before joining the Bloomfield College baseball program as a freshman in 2008.

Why Jonattan chose Division II:  "Coach Watson is a great players coach, and he played a big part in my decision in coming here. Also the school is close to home and academically I knew I would have the right help to succeed.”
