Coach Jack Winters enters his second season as the Head Coach at Bloomfield College for the 2023 season.
Winters joined the Bears a year ago after two successful seasons as the Pitching Coach at Bergen Community College (2019-2021), NYU (2017-2019) and Centenary University (2015-2017) respectively. Over that span of six years, Winters coached six All-Conference pitchers, two of which received NCAA All-Region recognition. He also led the NYU and Centenary pitching staffs to program low ERA's. In addition, in his two years with Bergen CC, Winters helped promote five of his pitchers to NCAA programs.
Winters also has five seasons of experience as a Head Coach in college summer leagues. He served as the skipper for the Carolina Forest Crawdads in the Beach Collegiate League (Myrtle Beach, SC), the Chillicothe Mudcats in the MINK League (Chillicothe, MO) and the North Jersey Eagles and Team Different Breed in the Metropolitan Collegiate League (Paramus, NJ). Each team finished with a winning record, including three playoff appearances and one championship.
Prior to his tenure at the collegiate level, Winters was a full-time member of the coaching staff at Professional Baseball Instruction (PBI) in Ramsey, NJ. Among the numerous baseball professionals associated with PBI were former Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle, long-time MLB coach Sam Perlozzo, and Leo Mazzone, a former Atlanta Braves pitching coach heralded for his development of multiple Hall of Famers.
Winters also spent time coaching at the high school level. From 2011-13, he served as the varsity pitching coach at his alma mater River Dell H.S. in Oradell, NJ. In 2015, Winters was the freshman baseball coach at Mahwah H.S.
As a player, Winters was a mainstay in the rotation at Rutgers University-Newark before transferring to the University of Redlands, where he ranks among the all-time leaders in single-season saves. After his collegiate career, Winters pitched two seasons for three independent professional league teams.
A 2010 Redlands graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History, Winters went on to complete a Masters of Business Administration degree at Centenary College in 2018.
Also a physical education teacher at Hudson Way Immersion School in New York, NY and Stirling, NJ, Winters is a native of Oradell, NJ and resides in River Edge, NJ with his fiancé Mia their dog Rookie.
