Biography

About Martinez:  A talented righty with a solid arsenal, David rejoins the Deacons as a junior in 2013, and will be one of the club's primary relievers out of the bullpen at the start of the campaign.

As a sophomore:  Appeared in 10 games on the mound for Bloomfield, totaling 17.1 innings pitched on the season...Pitched to a 2.08 ERA, tops among Bloomfield relievers...Averaged 6.75 strikeouts per nine innings, the second-highest mark on the club...Surrendered just four earned runs on the year, picking up one save on the season.

Before Bloomfield:  David attended Saint Peter’s College for one year before transferring to Bloomfield College...A standout during his high school career, he was named Team MVP in baseball for the 2008 season and Team MVP in soccer in both 2008 and 2009.

Why David chose Division II:  ”I chose Bloomfield college and Division II baseball because I believed that this school will give me the best chance to grow academically, athletically and as a person.”
