About Fernandez:  A versatile infielder with tremendous power, Edgar concluded a stellar four-year career for the Deacons as a senior during the 2012 season.

As a senior:  Played in 31 games for Bloomfield as a senior in 2012, totaling 100 at-bats...Notched 25 hits to post a .250 batting average...Totaled five extra-base hits, including four doubles and one home run...Totaled eight RBIs on the season.

As a junior:  Played in 15 games with 15 starts...Batted .275, totaling 14 hits in 2011...Finished with four doubles, one home run and nine RBIs, good for fifth on the club...Led the team with a .412 sluggin percentage, while posting a .302 on-base percentage.

As a sophomore:  Played in 32 games with 25 starts...Hit .293, good for second on the club in 2010...Totaled 27 hits in 92 at-bats, registering a .330 on-base percentage...Tallied eight doubles, a triple and a home run while driving in 13 runs, placing him third on the club. 

As a freshman:  Played in 26 games with 20 starts in 2009...Totaled 15 hits including three doubles, while driving in eight runs.

Before Bloomfield:  Edgar starred at Barringer High School in Newark, New Jersey before joining the Bloomfield College baseball program.

Why Edgardo Chose Division II:  “I chose Bloomfield because it is a good school that is close to my home, so my family can come and watch me play baseball at a high level.”
