Biography
About Appleton: A right-handed pitcher with a great deal of potential, James will return to the Deacons for his sophomore season in 2012. He will compete for innings in the bullpen, and will look to see his role increase as the season progresses.
As a freshman: Appeared in three games, totaling 3.1 innings pitched...Yielded four hits and one earned run, while striking out a pair of hitters...Held opponents to a .276 batting average.
Why James chose Division II: “I chose Division II knew Bloomfield College would be a great fit for me both as a student and as an athlete.”
Coach Watson on Appleton: “We are looking for James to increase his roll on our pitching staff this upcoming season, and hopefully he can prove he is capable of becoming a major contributor this year."
