Dennis Maldonado

Dennis Maldonado joins the coaching staff in his first season with the Bloomfield College men’s soccer team.

Prior to joining the Bears staff, Maldonado was an assistant for Kean University Men's soccer in the 2016 season, helping guide them to a 14-6-1 record and their first NCAA tournament appearance in 16 years. Before Kean, he was a staff coach at GoSoccer FC (Bridgewater, NJ) from 2009-2014 and NYCFC affiliate - TSF Academy (Lincoln Park, NJ) in 2015. 

Maldonado, holds a bachelor's degree in Counseling Psychology from East Stroudsburg University and a master's degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Seton Hall University. 

As an undergraduate student-athlete at East Stroudsburg University, Maldonado played under one of the winningest coaches in NCAA history, Jerry Sheska. He played midfield for one of the top Division II programs in the country, helping the nationally ranked ESU warriors to 2 conference titles and 2 NCAA appearances. 
After college, Maldonado played professionally in Ecuador's second division for Cuniburo FC (Cayambe, Quito, Ecuador).
 
He holds national USSF coaching licenses as well as a NJ Grade 8 referee license.
 
Coach Maldonado currently lives in Jersey City, NJ and also works for United Airlines.
