Biography

Ashleigh Williams has been a mainstay at third base and in the middle of the Deacons' lineup over the past three seasons.  Williams batted cleanup for Bloomfield for much of her career and is expected to hold down that spot in the lineup once again in 2013.  After a 2011 season in which she garnered 1st Team All-CACC honors, she was pitched around for much of the 2012 season.  Williams led the team with 18 walks and was hit by a pitch an NCAA record 36 times.  She comes into the 2013 season with 92 career hits and is looking to become the 14th player to top 100 career hits for the Deacons.

2012:
In 2012, Ashleigh Williams became the first Bloomfield College athlete to set an individual NCAA single-season record, although it was a record most players wouldn't want to have.  Williams was hit by a pitch a record 36 times.  Only one other player across all three divisions had been hit by a pitch more times in NCAA history.  When she was able to hit, Williams again was one of the top sluggers in the CACC.  Williams logged 30 RBI as the team's cleanup hitter and led the CACC with a .509 on base percentage, a mark that placed her 36th in the country.  Williams also gave BC a tremendous lift in the circle at the end of the season.  Despite only pitching four innings in the regular season, Williams pitched three crucial innings in BC's CACC Tournament win against Post to send BC to the CACC Tournament finals.  Williams also went 6-14 with two doubles and a triple in the CACC Tournament.

2011: In 2011, Ashleigh Williams established herself as one of the most dangerous hitters in the CACC.  Despite battling through injuries all season long, Williams .362 with 4 homers and 28 RBIs in earning 1st Team All-CACC honors.  Williams was 2nd on the team behind Kira Wagar with a .436 on base percentage.  In addition to playing well as a 3rd baseman, Williams also played a vital role as a part time pitcher in 2011.  When the Deacons lost two pitchers to injury, Williams stepped in and was BC's most effective pitcher down the stretch.  In a limited amount of innings, she led the team with a 3.29 ERA and picked up the win in BC's 8-5 playoff victory over Concordia.

2010: Despite missing 17 games with an injury, Williams was near the top of many offensive categories for the Deacons.  She tied for the team lead with 3 home runs and was 3rd on the team in RBI.  Williams also won 3 games for BC in the circle, including a 2-0 shutout win over CACC playoff participants USP.
