Bianka Cosme had a breakout season in 2009 in which she established herself as one of the top offensive second basemen in the CACC.  Cosme is a 5-tool player who contributes in all facets of the game for BC.  She will come into her junior season needing 33 hits to surpass 100 for her career and figures to be a top of the lineup hitter for the Deacons.  A tough player and a team leader, Cosme will be counted on as the most experienced infielder on the Deacons this year and will be in competition to win the starting shortstop position. 

2008: Cosme was a key contributor for the Deacons in 2008 on offense, defense and on the bases.  Cosme spent a majority of her time as the Deacons' everyday second basemen, but also spent some time in centerfield, doing very well in both spots.  Cosme had her share of clutch hits for BC in 2008, but none might have been as big as her game-tying double in the bottom of the 7th inning against Felician.  With the Deacons down 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th, Cosme laced a double into left center to tie the game.  A few pitches later she scored the winning run.  Cosme also started a rally in the 7th inning in a come from behind win against USP.  With BC down to their final out and down a run, Cosme singled and eventually scored the game tying run.

2009: Cosme may have been the Deacons' most improved player in 2009 when she became a middle of the lineup hitter for BC.  Cosme raised her average .125 points and her slugging percentage .150 points as she became one of the top offensive second basemen in the CACC.  Cosme also became a threat on the basepaths as she swiped 13 bases and scored 26 runs, including the game winner in extra innings against East Coast Conference champions and nationally ranked Dowling.  She was third on the team with 44 hits and second with 10 doubles and 14 walks.
