Brittany DeVries comes into her senior season as one of the top defensive players to play at BC in the Division 2 era.  DeVries has been outstanding in the outfield and at catcher, which have been her two main positions.  At times, she has also filled in at 2nd base and 3rd base and done just as well.  At the plate, DeVries has shown steady improvment and is just 4 hits shy of 100 for her career.  DeVries has started every game for BC since her freshman year (134 total games).

2008: In 2008 Brittany DeVries was one of the most important players on the Deacons squad.  The top defensive player on the team, DeVries is a capable player at any position on the field.  She split her time in the outfield and at catcher, with a brief stint at third base as well.  However, the legacy of DeVries' 2008 season was made at the plate.  Batting second in the lineup, DeVries led the nation in Sacrifice Bunts Per Game, averaging .54 sacs per game (25 sac bunts in 46 games).  That total was the tops in Division I and Division II.  DeVries bunting ability helped enable leadoff batter Vickie Berardi to set a school record with 44 runs scored this year.  

2009: DeVries again was the top defensive player on the Deacons, playing extremely well at catcher and in centerfield.  She led all BC regulars with a .981 fielding percentage.  DeVries set a personal best with 11 walks in 2009. DeVries was also named to an Academic All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
