Biography

Jocelyn Cabrera looks to play an expanded role in the Deacons catching position in 2012.  After showing good signs during a limited number of chances as a freshman, Cabrera will be part of the mix to replace Tiffany Muschio, who caught 39 games in 2011.  Cabrera showed promise and an aggressive at the plate as a freshman and can be expected to continue to progress as a hitter in 2012.

2011: Cabrera played a key role for the Deacons in 2011, appearing in 19 games as the team's catcher, starting 9 of them.  In a limited number of at bats, Cabrera showed an aggressive approach at the plate and an ability to make good contact.  Cabrera's biggest hit of the season came against Holy Family.  After BC lost game 1, BC was tied with Holy Family in the 5th inning of game 2.  Cabrera hit a 1 out double to give BC a 3-2 lead and also came around to score on an RBI single later in the inning.  Cabrera batted .273 in 2011 and struck out just once.
