Biography

In 2013 Kaila Dugger can be a big member of a Deacons team that has a ton of experience.  One of the few players on the team who has the ability to play nearly every position on the field, Dugger gives the Deacons depth across the board.  She has shown the ability to be a clutch hitter with power and if she can do that on a consistent basis, she will provide a big boost to the club.  Also experienced in the circle, Dugger has eight wins in her two years at BC and will contribute again to a deep BC pitching staff in 2013.

2012: In 2012 Dugger returned to the team after offseason surgery and contributed at key times for the Deacons.  She appeared in 40 games, pitching in 14 of them for BC in 2012.  A versatile utility player, Dugger saw time at third base, second base, pitcher, catcher and outfield.  Her biggest hit of the season came against a strong St. Rose team.  She hit a pinch-hit, RBI single to give BC the deciding run in a 3-2 win over their Northeast 10 foe.  She also provided a clutch pinch hit agains Caldwell College in BC's 2-1 loss.  With the tying run on second with two outs in the sixth, Dugger hit a sharp single to left to load the bases, giving BC a shot at the win.

2011: Dugger was enjoying a fine freshman campaign before her season was ended with an injury after 20 games.  Before she was injured, Dugger went 6-4 as BC's #2 pitcher and hit .300 with good power while playing left field.  Dugger was named the CACC Rookie of the Week on 3/14 after a strong showing in her first week of play.  Her best game came against CACC rival Philadelphia University.  In the game, she pitched 6 innings of 3 hit ball and then busted open a 1-1 tie with a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 6th to lead BC to a 3-1 win.  Dugger also pitched 4 innings of 3 hit ball against Pace University, one of the top hitting teams in the region.  She also went 3-3 in that game.
