Biography

2008: Surije Tonuzi suffered a tough break in 2008 when she was injured in a practice during the team's preseason.  She had ACL surgery in March, forcing her to miss the entire season.  A transfer from Bergen Community College where she was an All-Region catcher, Tonuzi showed during the fall that she has a potent bat that was missed in 2008.  

2009: Tonuzi has been rehabilitating since March and hopes to return healthy for the Fall of 2008.  She adds depth at catcher and in the outfield and will provide a power source for the Deacons lineup.  If her knee allows it, Tonuzi figures in the catching rotation with Tiffany Muschio, Amanda Bartels and Brittany DeVries for 2009.
