Anthony Green joins the Bears for his first season as Head Coach of Women's Basketball. Green, the former Essex County College head women’s basketball coach, led the Wolverines to two conference semifinal appearances. He registered an overall record of, 32- 17 in his two seasons at Essex and produced one All-American and three All-Region / All-Conference players. During the 2022-2023 season the Wolverines were ranked 20th in the country for a brief stint of the year.
Prior to taking over as the Head women’s coach at Essex, Green was an assistant on the Wolverines men’s basketball team. He helped bring in a Regional Championship (2019-2020) and a National Junior College Tournament appearance, but due to COVID the team was not able to participate.
Green is the Director of his own AAU basketball program for young men throughout Northern New Jersey called (P.O.I.S.E). He is ranked the #2 skill development coach in the state of New Jersey on CoachUp.com. In 2016 he began his own skill development/fitness business (P.O.I.S.E Training) which currently has 98 active clients, which includes all levels of athletes from beginners up to professional athletes.
Coach Green’s head coaching career started in 2016 with Hudson Catholic. As the head freshman coach,
he led the team to an, 18-2 record, earning the program a spot in the Hudson County Tournament.
Anthony Green played his collegiate basketball career at Felician College, now named Felician University. He
won a championship with the Golden Falcons (2009-2010) that would later get him inducted into the school's Hall
of Fame as the entire team / members were all inducted. During his time, he was a standout shooting guard ranking 7th in school history, most career games played 8 th (102), three-point field goals – career 9 th (127), three-point field goals season 7th (70), Free-throw pct career 9th (.717), Free-throw percentage, game 3rd (10-10).
Green does community outreach work with his AAU program as well as his family foundation (King Kare’s), a foundation that prides itself with providing back to school events and supplying meals for the local communities throughout North Jersey.
He obtained his B.A. in Communications from Felician College in 2014.
