Coach Lamar is in his fifth season as an assistant coach for the Lady Deacons, and assumes the Head Assistant duties for the first time in 2011-2012. He specializes in working with the Lady Deacons’ post players and also assists in overall player development.
Coach Lamar received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Decision Sciences and Computers from Rider University in 1985. A four-year starter at Rider, Lamarwas a two-year captain for the Broncs, helping lead the squad to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He concluded his career as the fifth all-time leading scorer and eighth all-time leading rebounder in program history.
After his days at Rider came to a close, Coach Lamar turned down an opportunity to play professionally in West Germany and began working at State Farm Insurance Company, where he has been employed for the past 25 years. He resides in Parsippany, NJ with his wife Kim, son DJ and daughter Niyah.
