Biography
About Deverin: A transfer from American International College, Lauren redshirted for Bloomfield in 2012-2013, after a solid sophomore campaign in 2011-2012. She rejoins the Bears for the 2014-2015 campaign as one of Bloomfield's best frontcourt options at both ends of the floor.
As a sophomore: Played in 27 games with 13 starts in her first season with the program in 2011-2012, averaging 21.7 minutes per contest...Averaged 7.1 points per game, leading Bloomfield in field-goal percentage by shooting 51% from the field for the season...Bloomfield's leading rebounder in her first season with the program, Deverin averaged 7.5 boards per game, good for ninth in the CACC...Placed ninth in the league in offensive rebounds (80), 11th in total rebounds (203), and eighth in total blocks (42), leading Bloomfield in all categories...Reached double-figures in scoring eight times in 2011-2012, going for a career-highs with 20 points and four blocks in a 74-72 victory over CACC North Division rival Caldwell College January 18, 2012...Totaled four double-doubles on the season, totaling a season-high 12 rebounds in a loss against Dominican College January 10, 2012 and in a loss to Felician College January 24, 2012.
Before Bloomfield: Starred at Bishop George Ahr High School and during her three years of playing varsity she was a 1,000 point scorer, holds the school record for a career high of 138 blocks, holds the school record of 72 blocks in one season, named to the GMC All-Conference Team, GMC All-Star Team, First Team All-County, First Team All Division, Named to Home News Tribune Home Tournament Team, Named to Star Ledger All Parochial Third Team, Named to Star Ledger All-Middlesex County First Team, Named in the Star Ledger as one of the top players to watch in the 2009/2010 season, Selected and played in the GMC All-Star Basketball game, Selected and played in the Blue Chip Basketball Best of the Best Tournament at Villa Nova University, Selected and played in the NJSCA State All-Star Classic Basketball game, and she was the leading scorer all three years she played varsity before attending AIC for one year and then transferring to Bloomfield College.
