Rocco Constantino

Rocco Constantino returns for his third seasn as the Head Women's Soccer Coach for Bloomfield College.  With a team that relied heavily on freshman in 2007, BC put together its most successful season in the program's short history.  The team set school records in nearly every team and individual category, including overall wins (5), CACC wins (3), shutouts (4) and goals scored (24) among others.  2007 also marked the first time two Deacons received post-season honors as freshman Missy Torzewski and senior Michelle Giuca were both named 2nd Team, All-CACC.  Despite a record of 5-12, the Deacons were more competitive than ever, losing 4 CACC games by one goal.  In 2007, Bloomfield College missed their first CACC Playoff berth by just one game.  Constantino hopes to improve further in 2008 as BC returns 9 key players and has added their second strong recruiting class in a row.

Before coaching at Bloomfield College, Constantino was the Head Girls Soccer Coach at Dumont High School for two years and an Assistant Head Coach for the North Arlington and Saddle Brook Boys Soccer teams.  At Dumont, Constantino began a rebuilding process that saw increased participation and instituted a year-round soccer commitment to indoor and spring club teams.  Before that, Constantino was the assistant coach on a North Arlington squad that won three consecutive North Jersey, Section 1, Group 1 Championships.  Scholastically, Constantino played goalie for Belleville High School under Gino DePinto and was the starting goalie for Belleville's 1991 team that registered a 14-4 record and a berth in the North Jersey, Group 3 Sectional Semifinals.  The team also set the school record for shutouts in a season with 10, a mark that has been matched once but not surpassed.

Constantino currently resides in Belleville, New Jersey and is also the Head Coach of the Deacon's softball team.  Prior to being hired full time at Bloomfield College, Constantino was a High School English Teacher for 7 years.  He graduated from Jersey City State College in 1998 with a degree in English/Writing and attended Kean University for graduate school and teacher certification.
