Caldwell, NJ- The Deacon men got a serious shot in the arm from senior captain
Omari Knox in a 74-69 win over CACC rival Caldwell College. Knox would add a season high 33 points as Bloomfield moves to 3-0 in conference play and 8-5 on the season. The loss was Caldwell's first CACC loss of the season, dropping them to 2-1 in conference and 6-8 overall.
Caldwell would take a narrow 25-23 lead into the break after a first half that featured 3 ties, 3 lead changes, and 18 turnovers. BC would shoot a dismal 23% from the field in the first period and Caldwell would not fare much better, shooting 33% for the half.
BC's shooting would improve drastically in the 2nd half, making 52% of their shots from the floor and 80% (20-25) from the free throw line. Caldwell would hold a 2 point lead with 11:19 to play at 43-41, but BC would own the next 8 minutes, going on a 23-8 run to put the game at 64-53 with two and a half minutes to play. The Cougars would work to cut the game to a 4 point deficit, but it would be too little too late as the Deacons held on for their 3rd CACC win of the season.
Omari Knox would lead BC on the offensive end, registering 33 points, making 10-10 from the free throw line and 5-9 from the 3 point line. Knox also grabbed 8 rebounds.
Wilson Pilarte also added 11 points and a team high 9 boards, and
Chris Sampson would put up 10 points of his own.
Ahmad Harris would have team highs in assists (6) and steals (5).
The men return to CACC action this Saturday when they take on USP. Tipoff is set for a 3 pm start.
