Fernando Colon enters his second season after leading Bloomfield College to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Finals in his debut a year ago. Colon joined the college in 2021 after 12 years of being the Girls Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Hudson Catholic Regional High School. 
 
Colon has a well-accomplished resume and is one of the directors of Sureshots Volleyball Club, a New Jersey elite program that helps their players become stronger physically and mentally both on and off the court. In February of 2020, he led the Sureshots 18 National Team to a USAV national bid after finishing in 1st Place at the Northeast Region Qualifier.
 
At Hudson Catholic, Colon built the girls' volleyball program from the ground up in 2008 when the school went co-ed; the regional high school had previously served as an all-boys school. Colon was named the 2012 and 2015 HCIAL Coach of the Year, voted on by league coaches. In 2016, NJ.COM recognized Fernando as the HCIAL Coach of the Year. A well decorated coach and respected in the volleyball community, Colon led Hudson Catholic to the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 County Championship titles and the 2016 & 2017 Non-Public B Sectional State titles.
 
"We are very excited to have Fernando take over our women's volleyball program," said Wooten. "I feel he is a great fit to our staff, our students and our campus as a whole. I am looking forward to him leading the program and the team remaining competitive within the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC)."
 
Colon currently resides in Plainfield with his beautiful wife Tina along with their two wonderful children, daughter Genesis and son NigelHe holds a degree in Business Administration from New Jersey City University (NJCU).
