Lady Deacons fall to Pace 64-45

Hawkins' 14 points not enough to down Setters

PLEASANTVILLE, NY: The women's  basketball team fell to 2-6 on the young season Monday evening with a 64-45 loss to Pace University in their first of two games in New York.

Sophomore Nichole Hawkins paced the Lady Deacons' offensive attack with 14 points and also pulled down a team high six rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome Taylor Losey's 27 points as she lead the Setters to the victory.

Bloomfield played right with Pace through the first 20 minutes of play, shooting just under 40% from the floor and trailing by just seven points heading into the break.  But the 33-26 advantage held by the Setters at halftime soon ballooned to double digits, as the Lady Deacons' offense sputtered in the game's second stanza.  A ten-point scoring effort from senior Milani Malik wasn't enough to bring the Lady Deacons back, as they dropped the opening matchup of their two-game set at Pace.

The team returns to action tomorrow with a non-conference contest against Assumption College, the second game of their stay at Pace University.  Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
