Balanced attack leads Deacons past New Haven

Four players finish in double figures as Bloomfield wins eighth game of 09'-10'

GARDEN CITY, NY:  The men's basketball team got back on track Wednesday afternoon, improving to 8-3 with an 88-68 victory over New Have University in the Deacons' second game at Adelphi University.

An offense that struggled to find its rhythm the day before got back in the groove in a big way against the Chargers, with four different players reaching double figures for the Deacons in the victory.  Gage Daye lead the onslaught with a game-high 27 points, finishing 10-15 from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from beyond the arc.

Senior Chris Sampson posted his second 20-plus point performance in his last three games, notching 21 while pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds.  Ryan Rodrigues finished 5-11 from the field and shot 50% from three to notch 12 points, and Matt Wafula poured in 10 points to help secure the victory.

The Deacons stormed out of the gate in the first half, shooting 55% from the floor to take a sizable 46-35 lead at the break.  The barrage continued in the second half, as Bloomfield shot 5-9 from beyond the arc to secure their eighth victory of the season.

The team returns to action January 7, when they square off against conference rival Dominican College in a road CACC contest.  Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM.
