The Bloomfield College Student Athlete Advisory Committee hosted a garage sale on October 10th to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  The SAAC was supported by the BC athletics department, the BC faculty and staff and the Bloomfield residential community.

"The garage sale ended up being a great event and I was very happy we are able to support such a great cause," said SAAC advisor Rocco Constantino.  "The student athletes who helped out did a great job.  Hopefully we can make this an annual event."

The Bloomfield College SAAC has a goal to raise $1200 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation over the course of the scholastic year.  The garage sale brought them very close to their goals by raising over $1000 for the foundation.  

The SAAC collected donations among their group and also solicited donations from BC athletics staff including Denise Wilburn, Sheila Wooten, Gerald Holmes, Mindy Boyles, Jeremy Fouts and Constantino.  Many Bloomfield College employees also donated items for the sale.

The garage sale was also supported by the women's soccer team who donated proceeds from their bake sale that day.  The BC baseball and men's basketball teams also teamed up with SAAC and helped with the setup and cleanup of the event.  

In additiion to raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the SAAC donated all remaining items to the Salvation Army.
