McDaniel's double-double paces Bloomfield in 71-46 win over Post

Malik, Burton also hit double-figures in BC's tenth CACC victory

BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The women's basketball team rode a 22-point, 11-rebound performance from junior center Tiffany McDaniel to a 71-46 victory over the Post University Eagles Thursday night, notching their tenth CACC victory of the season and improving their home record to 8-1 on the 09'-10' campaign.

From the outset, it was clear the Lady Deacons' plan was to use their suffocating full-court press to stifle the Lady Eagles' offense.  They were able to execute their game plan to near perfection in the first 20 minutes of play, forcing an 8-27 shooting performance by Post and building a 37-19 advantage heading into the break.

It was much of the same in the second frame, as the Lady Eagles were unable to stop the dominant post play of McDaniel, who also swatted two blocks to complete her outstanding performance.  The Lady Eagles finished shooting just 30% from the floor for the night, while the Deacons were able to connect on six of their 19 three-point tries to extend their cushion in the second half.  Struggling from beyond the arch, Post was unable to mount a comeback in the game's latter stages, clinching the victory and improving the Lady Deacons' mark to 10-13 on the season.

Milani Malik continued her hot shooting off the bench in the victory, posting 12 points and connecting on two of her three long-range attempts.  Robyn Burton also made her presence felt in the second half, posting 13 points in just ten minutes of action.  Emily Horrocks dished out six assists and swiped a pair of steals, while Dre'Shonda Williams added seven points and swiped three steals.  Aubrey Latham was the lone bright spot for the Lady Eagles, going for 12 points and 11 rebounds as Post fell to 6-16 overall and
2-12 in CACC play.

The team returns to the hardwood Saturday, February 20 with their final home game of the season, against USP.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.  The matchup will be Senior Day for the Lady Deacons, as well as their annual Think Pink day, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness.
