Lady Deacons stumble at St. Rose

BOX SCORE

ALBANY, N.Y. (December 30, 2011) -
Bloomfield's women's basketball team fell to 3-7 overall Friday afternoon, as they dropped a 69-54 road decision to non-conference opponent The College of Saint Rose.

The Lady Deacons controlled the action for much of the opening half, holding a 19-18 lead with 6:18 to play in the frame.  But the Golden Knights would engineer a 9-0 spurt to gain the advantage, widening the margin over the remainder of the half and taking a 33-23 cushion into the intermission.

Bloomfield's attack was unable to find its rhythm in the final 20 minutes of play, with Saint Rose maintaining their double-digit lead for the rest of the afternoon.  The visiting Lady Deacons could not mount a late-game charge, falling for the fifth time on the road in the 2011-2012 season.

Senior guard Emily Hall (Montclair, N.J.) totaled a game-high 24 points, seven rebounds and five steals in the finest performance of her Bloomfield College career, while fellow senior Vanessa Lamison (Laurel, Md.) notched 13 points and seven rebounds in the setback.  Shaniqua Bacote (Paterson, N.J.) was solid in the post, totaling 10 points and eight rebounds.

Bloomfield returns to action Tuesday, January 3 when they host CACC North Division rival Nyack College.  Tip-off for the contest is set for 6:00 PM.
