Deacons fall at Holy Family 1-0

BOX SCORE

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (October 6, 2012) -
The Bloomfield College men's soccer team fell to 5-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 1-0 road decision to CACC rival Holy Family University.

The match would remain scoreless until the final minutes of the opening half, when Holy Family's Kevin McCollick finished a cross from Alah Mbriwa to put the Tigers up 1-0 heading into the intermission.  Bloomfield would total 19 shots on the afternoon, with six of them finding their way on net.  But the Deacons could not break through to net the equalizer, as the home team held on to preserve the one-goal victory and hand Bloomfield just its second conference loss of the 2012 season.

Sophomore midfielder Cesar Ventura (North Bergen, N.J.) paced the offense with five shots in the loss, while seniors Diego Mayanga (Queens, N.Y.) and Kemar Richards (Kingston, Jamaica) totaled four shots apiece in the setback.  Sophomore keeper Kieran Moran (Bronx, N.Y.) totaled five saves on the afternoon.

Bloomfield returns to action Saturday, October 13, when they travel to take on CACC rival Nyack College.  Kickoff for the contest is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
