Bloomfield, NJ - Bloomfield College used a superlative defensive effort and used a balanced scoring attack to move to 4-0 in CACC play in defeating Chestnut Hill 56-38.  It was just the second time in over three years that the Deacons have held an opponent to under 40 points.

Chestnut Hill gained possession off the opening tip and scored a quick basket to take a 2-0 lead.  Over the next 15 minutes, Bloomfield held Chestnut Hill to just one field goal as the Deacons built a 24-4 lead on the way to a 34-14 halftime advantage. 

The Deacons held Chestnut Hill to just four field goals in the first half while shooting 10-32 in the half themselves.

The Griffins and Deacons played evenly in the second half as Bloomfield used a deep rotation of players on the way to the 18-point win.

Tianna Smith and Ivettlis Castro led Bloomfield with 12 points each as nine different Deacons played at least 14 minutes.  Nakaida Thomas had nine rebounds for Bloomfield.

The Deacons return to action after a lengthy break when they take on Post University at home on December 18.  Game time is set for 6:00pm.
