BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Deacons withstand a 2nd half push from the Clippers of Concordia College to hold onto an 88-75 win in North Division action of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tonight. Bloomfield's senior forward
Mike Williams (Ewing, NJ) led the offensive production with 18 points on 9-for-12 shooting from the floor while fellow senior center

Concordia would win the opening tip and score the game's first basket on a made jumpshot by Andrew Peacock (Upper Marlboro, MD) however they would never lead again as the Deacons went on a 22-9 run to grab a firm hold of the contest in front of the home crowd. Sophomore forward
Claude Blue (Brooklyn, NY) shined in the opening half posting 12 points on 4-for-4 shooting from the field including 2 from beyond 3-point range. Junior guard
Marvin Williams (Jersey City, NJ) who scored his 1,000th career point as a Deacon last week contributed 9 points in the period while fellow junior guard
Matt Hall (Brooklyn, NY) came off the bench to add 7 as Bloomfield took a commanding 51-34 lead into the intermission. The Deacons shot a blistering 64.0% from the field in the first half and held a 24-6 advantage on the boards over Concordia.
Bloomfield's shooting would cool down in the 2nd half (44.0%) and the Clippers actually outscored the Deacons 41-37 in the frame however the lead was too great with Concordia succumbing to the loss on the road.
Mike Williams scored 10 of his 18 points in the second period to keep the Clippers at bay and Bloomfield benefitted from Blue, Hall and
Marvin Williams all scoring in double-figures with 15, 11 and 14 points respectively. The Deacons maintained their rebounding edge, closing out the contest with a 44-25 advantage. Concordia's bright spot came by way of Norman Pope (Washington, DC) who posted 16 of his game-high 23 points in the 2nd half.
The Deacons next test will roll into town this Saturday, February 1st when the Tigers of Holy Family University come calling. The CACC North vs South Division rivalry is set to tip-off at 3:00 pm. Don't miss a minute of the action, even if you can't make it to the game, see it LIVE by
