SCOTT LEADS DEACONS IN 85-47 VICTORY OVER CONCORDIA

BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield College Women's Basketball picked up a victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Concordia College in the Deacons Den 85-47. Junior center Tierra Scott (Bear, DE) shot 6-for-8 from the field scoring a game high 17 points for the Deacons who had five players score in double-figures on the evening. The win moves Bloomfield up to 9-3 in CACC action (11-8 overall) while dropping Concordia to 0-11 in conference play (0-18 overall).

Bloomfield took control from the early going, opening up the game with an 11-0 run to put the Clippers on their heels. Concordia would claw back to within 6 points two times in the period before the Deacons closed out the half with an 18-2 run putting the Clippers down 46-21 heading into the lockeroom. Scott finished the first stanza with 11 points in her starting role while freshman guard Morgan Taylor (Paterson, NJ) poured in 9 points in the frame. Defensively Bloomfield held the Clippers to just 36.0% shooting from-the-field in the first half. 

Senior guards Ivettlis Castro (Carteret, NJ) and Iliriana Lulgjuraj (Bloomfield, NJ) both came off the bench in the second half for Bloomfield to score 9 points a piece and the Deacons lead grew. The defensive effort continued for Bloomfield as well, forcing 13 Concordia turnovers in the half and leading to the eventually victory for Coach Caputo's squad. Joining Scott in double-figure scoring, Lulgjuraj finished the game with 13 points on 4-for-7 shots. Taylor's 12 point output for the game was matched by freshman guard Tianna Smith (Nanuet, NY) and Castro rounded out the Deacons double-digit producers with 11 points.
