WILMINGTON, D.E. – The Bloomfield College women's soccer team saw two Goldey-Beacom College players score two goals each in a 6-0 setback Saturday afternoon on the road. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss dropped the Bears to 1-8-2 in league play and 3-9-2 overall while the Lightning clinched a playoff birth as they improved to 5-6 in the conference and 7-8 overall.
Bloomfield's junior goalkeeper,
Diana Vincentini (Lacey TWP, N.J.) allowed two goals in the first half during the 13
th and 41
st minutes of play. Goldey-Beacom held a 9-3 advantage in shots during the opening period and enjoyed a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.
The second half saw the home team pour in four more goals with two coming back-to-back off the foot of Megan Harvis at the 55:25 and 57:39 minute marks. The scoring was capped by Amy Runciman's second goal of the day in the 78
th minute. Freshman
Emira Sela (Staten Island, N.Y.) took over in goal for the Bears in the second half and surrendered two goals and picked up one save on the afternoon.
Lisa Parello (Staten Island, N.Y.) and
Alison Galiano (Washington TWP, N.J.) managed Bloomfield's only two shots on goal for the contest as the Lightning struck for a 10-2 shots on goal advantage during the game.
Bloomfield will close out their 2015 season on Wednesday, Oct. 28
