EAGLES STUN BEARS IN 91-66 CACC HOME OPENER LOSS

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - Despite 17 points and 9 rebounds from sophomore forward, Nick Davidson (Lumberton, N.J.), the Bloomfield College men's basketball team suffered a stunning 66-91 deafeat in their home opener to the Eagles of Post University. The loss dropped the Bears to 0-3 overall on the young season and 0-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action while the Eagles(1-3, 1-0 CACC) soared for their first victory of 2015 and in league play.

Bloomfield had no answer for sophomore guard Tyler Desrosiers (Agawam, Mass.) who came off the bench and scored 18 of his game-high 24 points (9-14 FG, 2-2 FT) in the second half alone for Post. Desrosiers soared from beyond the arc in the second frame going 4-for-6 and saw his bench mate, Tamas Okros (Bristol, England) record a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds on the night.

Bloomfield struggled to find an offensive flow in the first half and found themselves down 11 points (13-24) halfway thru the period. The home team looked to cut the deficit to single digits by halftime but foul trouble led to Davidson heading to the bench early and the Bears being forced into a 43-27 hole at the break.

Bloomfield made a strong push in the second half and trimmed the Eagle lead to six (59-53) with 9:05 remaining on a layup in the paint by sophomore Rakwan Kelly (Newark, N.J.) but it was not enough to overcome the barrage from Post's sharp shooter. The Eagles calmly went on an 8-0 run and with Kelly and Davidson eventually fouling out of the contest the Bears were out of options in the setback.

Bloomfield will look to rebound from the disappointing loss next Tuesday when they host the Pioneers from LIU-Post. The non-conference tilt is set to begin at 7:30 pm from the Bloomfield College Gym.
