BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield College fell to Caldwell 3-1 in a CACC softball contest that was a makeup of their game from last week that was called for darkness.
Caldwell, the region's top ranked team, jumped on Bloomfield (22-18-1, 12-12 CACC) early when they plated two runs off of
Stephanie Miller (10-11) in the first on an RBI single.
The score stayed that way until the fifth when
Kelly Stites singled, was bunted to second by
Annette Daw and came in to score on a double by
Aubrey Orr.
Bloomfield had a chance to tie the game in the sixth when
Kirsten Wilson led off with a double to right center. However, the next three batters all struck out looking and that ended the threat.
Caldwell tacked on a run in the top of the seventh and the Bears went down without a threat in the seventh,
Bloomfield managed just five hits in the game with Stites going 2-2 with a run scored.
Bloomfield has just one game remaining on the regular season schedule as they take on Wilmington University at 1:00 pm at home. This will be their fifth straight game against a regionally ranked opponent.
