WILDCATS HALT BEARS UNBEATEN STREAK IN 3-0 WIN AT FOLEY FIELD

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2015 season at the hands of the Wildcats of Wilmington University Saturday afternoon at Foley Field. The 3-0 win improved Wilmington to 1-1 on the year and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play while the Bears fall to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

Wilmington was dominant statistically, outshooting Bloomfield 14-6 and won the corner kick battle 6-0. Sophomore Carin Essex-Arline (Burlington, N.J.) took three of the Wildcats' shots and put the visitors up 1-0 in the 30th minute of the first half.

Wilmington scored their second goal in the 63rd minute of the second half, then added another Essex-Arline goal in the 81st minute off a beautiful set play on a corner kick that sealed the 3-0 road win.

Nicole McWilliams (Staten Island, N.Y.), Silvia Jaske (Helsinki, Finland) and senior Sarah Barnes each put shots on goal for the Bears but with no results as the Wildcats' keeper stayed up to the task. Bloomfield's goalie, Diana Vincentini (Lacey TWP, N.J.) registered 3 saves on the afternoon before resigning keeping duties in the second half to freshman, Emira Sela (Staten Island, N.Y.) who managed to record a save of her own.

The Bears will continue to enjoy the confines of home when they host crosstown rival Felician College under the lights at Foley Field in a 7 p.m. start Tuesday evening. Bloomfield will look to get back on the winning track as the Golden Falcons enter the CACC showdown winless in 2015.
