WEST HAVEN, CONN. – The Bears traveled to take on the Chargers from the University of New Haven Tuesday evening and dropped a non-conference decision in straight sets at the Charger Gym. The loss snapped a four game win streak for Bloomfield as the home team took the match with set scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-18.
 
New Haven improved to 8-5 on the season with the regional victory while the visitors fell to an even 10-10 with their fifth straight loss to a non-conference foe.
 
Senior Valerie Bermudez (San Juan, P.R.) led the way with 7 kills, 9 digs and chipped in 2 blocks. Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) registered 6 kills and 2 blocks while senior classmates, Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif.) and Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) each served up 14 and 12 assists respectively. Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) had a team-high 19 digs.
 
Bloomfield will look for a better outing as they get set to face Dominican College on Friday, October 14^th. The Bears are set to play a 7:00 pm match on the road with the Chargers as they look to get back to their winning ways and register their fifth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory in a row.
