NEWARK, DEL. - The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team saw their 2016 campaign come to a close in the semifinal round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament with a 3-1 loss at the hands of the #1 South Division seeded Rams of PhilaU Saturday afternoon on the campus of Wilmington University. The CACC North Division second seed fell by set scores of 25-16(B), 25-22(P), 26-24(P) and 25-16(P) as the Rams avenged their lone defeat in regular season league play to the Bears. PhilaU advances to the CACC Finals on Sunday at 12:00 pm.

Senior
Valerie Bermudez (San Juan, P.R.) poured in a strong performance in the semi-final round with 16 kills and 14 digs while classmates
Jacquelyn Madlock (Alta Loma, Calif.) and
Edmarie Freytes (San Juan, P.R.) shared the workload pitching in 19 and 17 assists respectively. Libero Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) had a team-high 17 digs to go along with seven assists.
Nayade Paulino (Paterson, N.J.) and
Kali Viles (McKinney, T.X.) registered 3 blocks and
Paola Noble (Toa Alta, P.R.) chipped in 13 kills during the Bears last game of the season.

Bloomfield fell just shy of their mark a year ago when they reached the CACC Finals. The season comes to an end for an outstanding eleven Bear seniors who led the team to 1,944 digs, 1,404 kills and 1,279 assists this year. Their presence will truly be missed.
