2016 CACC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (February 27. 2016) -- The semifinal contests for the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championship are set following Saturday's four quarterfinal contests that tipped off this year's tournament.

The top-two seeds in each Division were victorious in the quarters to advance to next Friday's semifinals, which will be held at Dominican College in Orangeburg, N.Y. North No. 1 and top-overall seed Bloomfield College defeated South No. 4 seed Chestnut Hill College, 64-48, while the South's top seed, Philadelphia University, took down North No. 4 Nyack College 91-69. South No. 2 and defending conference champion Holy Family University defeated North No. 3 Dominican College, 72-46, and North No. 2 Caldwell University took down South No. 3 University of the Sciences 79-56.

Next Friday's semifinal showdowns will include Bloomfield facing Holy Family at 12 p.m., followed by Philadelphia and Caldwell at 2 p.m. The PhilaU-Caldwell contest will be a rematch of last year's semifinal game, which was won by the Rams on a last-second buzzer-beater.

In Bloomfield's quarterfinal win over Chestnut Hill on Saturday, newly-minted CACC Player of the Year Tianna Smith poured in a game-high 17 points to spark the Bears to victory. Chyna Golden and Ariel Wilson each chipped in 13 points as well.

PhilaU was led by freshman guard Jessica Kaminski, who pumped in a career-best 20 points to lead four double-figure scorers in the 22-point triumph over the Warriors. Mary Newell and Tori Arnao followed with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

Erin Fenningham and Jill Conroy pumped in 20 and 17 points, respectively, to led Holy Family to the win over Dominican. The Tigers shot an impressive 67-percent (10-of-15) from three-point range to spearhead their winning effort.

All five Caldwell starters scored in double-figures to highlight Saturday's win. Kristen Drogsler led the offensive surge with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor, while the Cougars as a team shot 53-percent from the field (32-of-61).
