The Bloomfield College men's soccer team fell on the wrong side of a 1-0 decision Wednesday night at Foley Field by the claws of the Cougars from Caldwell University. The setback dropped the Bears to 2-4-0 for the season and 1-2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play while the visitors improved to 4-2-1 for the year and 3-0-1 in league action.
Â
The gritty hard-nosed contest saw its' only goal come in the second half as the Cougars pushed a ball past
Wilson Cisneros (Bronx, N.Y.) (1-2) and just away from a Bears defender into the net. The score came in the 71
st minute of play and sent the home team's offense into a frenzy to try and equalize the match.
Â
The Caldwell defense proved up to the task however as the visitors left the pitch victorious and undefeated in CACC matches.
Â
Next up Bloomfield makes another defense at home when the Lightning from Goldey-Beacom College flash in for a visit on Saturday for a CACC soccer doubleheader. The match up is scheduled for a 3:30 pm start at Foley Field on September 24
th.
