LYNDHURST, N.J. - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team netted two second half goals to score a shutout of Felician University on the road Tuesday afternoon. The Bears, 3-4-1 on the season picked up a much-needed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over the Golden Falcons who fell to 1-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in league games.
Â
After struggling to finish off chances in their last outing, Bears head coach,
Peter-John Falloon tried a different approach in substitutions which paid large dividends when freshman,
Nahuel Pereyra (Elizabeth, N.J.) broke the scoreless tie in the 51
st minute of play on a header past the Golden Falcons keeper. Bloomfield defender,
William Baah (Pawtucket, R.I.) and senior
Hugues Douyon (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) both assisted on the freshman's first goal of his college career.
Â
Douyon staked his claim as the Bears' leading scoring less than five minutes later when he finished a diagonal cross from classmate,
Rafique Roberts (Portmore, Jamaica) that put the visitors in control and the game out of reach for Felician.Â
Wilson Cisneros (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded his fifth career shutout and first of the 2016 season as he improved to 2-2-1 on the year.
Â
Next on the Bears agenda, they travel to Philadelphia for another CACC battle, this time against the Tigers of Holy Family University. Bloomfield is scheduled for a 2:30 pm start on the road following the women's team with a noon time start to their game.
